TUNNG – Bullets (Full
Time Hobby – 15/10/07)
Review by Dawn
Bullets has the kind of infectious beat which
continues to resonate in your head long after you’ve pressed the
stop button on Winamp and, with its deceptively cheery tune and “na-na-na”s,
it could remain there for some time to come.
Not that that’s such a bad thing. The London six-piece manage to
back up this catchiness with poetic lyrics and intricately layered sounds
such as tin whistles and typewriter keys, not to mention singer Sam’s
soothing vocals and a haunting, Day In The Life-esque melody.
It’s all topped off with a wonderfully weird, space-themed video
which needs to be seen to be believed – although, to be honest,
I’m still a little disturbed by the melting rubber duck… Tunng
tour in October.
