MICAH P. HINSON – When We Embraced (Full Time Hobby – 30/06/08)

More up-tempo than anything on his wonderful Gospel of Progress album – but still with a gloomy air to the lyrics – this is a short, sharp, subdued song weighing in at just under two minutes long.

It's testament to Hinson's songwriting, then, that even in such a tight timescale he still manages to convey such a moving melody and hook-laden chorus, not to mention some immensely intriguing lyrics.

Due to health and personal issues, new LP And The Red Empire Orchestra was the album which almost didn't get made. On this evidence, let’s be very grateful that it did.
