Throw open your windows and sing your heart out because the Delays boys are back and demanding that you share their summery mood. If, like me, you thought the Southampton quartet couldn’t produce a more infectious, appealing tune than debut effort Nearer Than Heaven, think again; there hasn’t been a song quite this full of sunshine since Ooberman’s wonderful Blossom’s Falling. Shimmering guitars, beautifully layered vocal harmonies and Greg Gilbert’s unique, goosebump-inducing angelic growl explain why the track has already been receiving airplay from Radios 1 and 2; it’s haunting yet charming, it’s superbly melodic – and if you’re not singing along before the end, I’d recommend that you check your pulse… Catch the boys supporting Easyworld in July.
