THE BLUETONES - Luxembourg
Review by Dawn
The Bluetones are back with a fresh sound and their fourth
studio album is better than ever. As the LP bursts into life with the
intriguing electronica of Here It Comes Again, mainman Mark
Morriss grabs you by the hand and drags you up to dance to his
band's new, rockier mix of addictive, scratchy guitars and luscious vocal
harmonies, his grip never once loosening until long after the final chords
of terrific tenth track Turn It Up have finished. The tunes are
irresistibly infectious and the 'rumours/satsumas' line in You're
No Fun Anymore (the song which also spawned the album's title) must
surely rate as one of the greatest pop rhymes ever. Luxembourg? Only a
fool would beg for it to end...
